Gewürztraminer is the traditional grape variety of Alsace, a variety proven well suited to our maritime climate | this example shows both complexity & texture without a reliance on high residual sugar | classic aromatics of ginger, rose petals & lychee “Restrained, dry gewürztraminer with subtle lychee , rose petal, spice & anise flavours, together with a distinctive salty tang. A pretty wine that’s accessible now but suggests promising development potential” - Bob Campbell
WINEMAKING NOTES
The grapes were gently whole bunch pressed. The juice was chilled and settled until bright. Ambient yeast took control of the fermentation. The ferment was kept cool at 10-12°C to maintain varietal characters, then stopped with further chilling to retain natural residual sugar. Bottled early to capture the natural vibrancy of Gewürztraminer.
